In 2003, the City of New Bern turned over the operation of the Firemen’s Museum to the Friends of the New Bern Firemen’s Museum, an independent not-for-profit group. The Friends are responsible for the operation of the Museum, including funding.

Become a Friend of the Museum by making a contribution. We want all of our visitors, regardless of age, to visit the Museum often and leave the museum with a better understanding of the role fire has played in New Bern’s history and the astounding courage and stamina of generations of firefighters.
